How to Peel a Melon
I really enjoy passing along tips that I’ve used in restaurants over the years, but are not well-known to most people. The other day, I was in the kitchen with Molly’s brother, Ted. He was hacking away at a melon and losing more flesh than necessary because of his technique. The way that most people learn how to cut a melon is in wedges with the skin on. Either way you slice it, this method does not yield the maximum amount of melon.
This technique also applies to peeling mangoes, pineapples, and citrus.
Watch this video to learn how to cut a melon a new way. Give it a shot and let us know what you think.
